In the Indian state of Maharashtra, there is a village with 34 wonderful Ellora caves, carved into the mountain Charanandri. Ellora – an official UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves consist of 12 Buddhist, 17 Hindu and 5 Jain temples and monasteries built in the period from VI to X century. They recall the religious harmony that prevailed in India during this period.
